About SPILEA
SPILEA is founded by Dr. Iro Fragkaki. Iro is a psychologist, researcher, lecturer, and Gestalt therapy trainee from Greece. She holds a PhD in in Biological and Developmental Psychopathology with the distinction of Cum Laude from Radboud University, a Master in Clinical and Developmental Psychopathology (MSc) from VU University Amsterdam, and a Bachelor in Psychology (BSc) from the University of Athens.
She worked as a Post-doc Researcher at the Behavioural Science Institute, Radboud University and as a Senior Researcher at VENTIO - Crime Prevention Science Institute. She has experience with clinical populations and especially adolescents with behavioral problems and she has worked on developing and testing psychological interventions for youth. She is also a trainee in Gestalt therapy at the Gestalt Foundation and a certified positive psychology practitioner by the School of Positive Transformation. She provides psychological therapy rooted in Gestalt therapy and positive psychology for adults and youth focusing on anxiety, depression, trauma, aggression, relational, behavioral, and emotional problems.
She lives in the Netherlands since 2012 and she is also a lecturer at the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), where she teaches Cross-Cultural Psychology. As an expat in the Netherlands, she has personal experience on the difficulties in adjusting to a different culture and the personal growth that comes with it. Her mission is to provide support and therapy to individuals from all over the world, promote self-awareness, support multicultural communities, and fight the stigma of mental illness.
Iro is a member of the Dutch Association of Psychologists (Nederlands Insituut van Psychologen - NIP number: 237784), the European Association for Gestalt Therapy, and the Hellenic Association for Gestalt Therapy.
